About This Event

Conn3ct — a project born out of a desire to connect souls, connect musical heritage, connect powerful female spirit, connect audiences, and collectively share the energy that each of these unique performers bring in one monumental 90-minute show featuring Bristol’s MĀDŁY, London’s Amy True, and Sheffield’s very own Aziza Jaye.

See the incredible Conn3ct House band transform live on stage from a Hip-Hop band, to a Neo Soul band, to an Afro-Jazz band, as we take you on a musical journey steeped in outrageous vocal prowess, virtuosic musicianship, and deep emotional connection.

MĀDŁY

A Parisian-born, Bristol-based singer, MC and songwriter. Expect some Neo-Soul with a pinch of Hip-Hop, a sprinkle of Nu-Jazz, French lyricism and a healthy dose of otherworldly improvisation.

Aziza Jaye

With influences stemming from her Jamaican roots in reggae, dancehall and lovers rock, to a love for rare Soul and Motown with an undeniable passion for Afrobeat, House and Drum and Bass, one can only imagine the soundscape of her mind. She coined the term “genre-less” to describe her true versatility and flexibility to musically shape-shift, effortlessly.

Amy True

Forward-thinking, British-born, Irish/Ugandan poet and songwriter Amy True has been delivering her unique fusion of politicised hip-hop, jazz and soul since 2011. A true wordsmith, Amy’s steady stream of conscious, iconoclastic verse sits in visceral harmony amongst soulful melodic hooks and rich jazz motifs as she punches out poetry with unapologetic flare.

The Conn3ct House band features Harry Stoneham (Waldo’s Gift), Joe Wilkinson (Cousin Kula) & Alex Veitch (Yetii) — utterly immense, and worth the ticket price all by themselves.
